Grass Rigs (20 Series)

1993 Ford F350 XL 4×4 grass rig.   Carrying 150 gallons of water and is primarily used for any grass or wildland fires as well as any off-road incidents. It is equipped with various wildland firefighting tools and has the capability of seating three personnel.

Carrying 750 gallons and capable of pumping 1,250 gallons per minute. Responds to structure fires, vehicle accidents, and other specialized incidents.
Capable of carrying 6 personnel.

2002 Freightliner FL80 / American LaFrance
1,000 gallons onboard and capable of pumping 1,250 gallons per minute. Responds to structure fires, vehicle accidents, and other specialized incidents.
Outfitted with extrication and stabilization equipment.
Capable of carrying 4 personnel.

 

Tankers/Tenders (40 Series)

Carrying 3,000 gallons and capable of pumping 500 gallons per minute. Dump capabilities from both sides and rear. Also equipped with a 3,000 gallon drop tank often used in rural settings where hydrants are not available.

Used as a staff vehicle with a rear command workstation. Carries BLS EMS quipment.

Southwest 61

1995 International 4800 DT 466 4×4 / Amtech Emergency Products Rescue Truck
Uutfitted with extrication and vehicle stabilization tools that responds to all vehicle accidents, structure fires, and other specialized incidents. Outfitted with a cascade system used for refilling SCBA air bottles. Also carries miscellaneous technical rescue equipment.

 

Retired Apparatus

Southwest 11 (Retired)

Retired SW 11 was a 1999 Ford E450 / Braun 4×2 . It was decommissioned and sold privately to another fire department to be used as a second ambulance.

Southwest 23 (Retired)

1997 Ford F350 / E-One 4×4
Refitted by Fyr-Tek to become the current SW 23.

Southwest 12 (Retired)

The departments first ambulance, Retired SW 12 was a 1996 Ford F350 XLT/Road Rescue 4×4 ambulance. In 2011 The box was sold for scrap, and the chassis repurposed for what today is known as SW 24.

Southwest 33 (Retired)

2002 Freightliner FL80 / American LaFrance
Carried 750 gallons and was capable of pumping 1,250 gallons per minute. In 2021 it was sold to Basset Nebraska Fire Department where it remains in service.
